Jewellery Trends
Oversized, asymmetrical earrings, chunky chains, and metallic finishes became hallmarks of the era. The aesthetic was theatrical and exaggerated, often incorporating futuristic elements such as chrome, mirrored surfaces, and unconventional materials.
Glittering gold chains, diamond chokers, and oversized cocktail rings dominated the dance floors, during the rising disco culture.






Yellow Gold was King in the 70s. Hammered textures and matte finishes gave the perfect organic, stylish feel. Chains were thick and heavy, as were the many bangles spread up the wrist. hoops were tubular and large for everyday wear.
A bohemian vibe was very evident thoughout the 70s. The free spirited and festival- ready style adopted by so many. Natural stones were very popular and present in any outfit. Amber, Coral and Turquoise were a huge hit as well as a peace sign or floral motif.


Towards the end of the 70s, the night life changed the scene altogether. DISCO. The jewellery was bolder, and more of a statement. There was rhinestones and crystals, large faceted gemstones surrounded by diamonds and cocktail rings.
